Summary

I’m a nutritionist who has dipped his toes in many areas: research, clinical work, product development, eating/ weight management concept development, lecturing, education and writing for professionals and for popular markets. My strong areas in nutrition are general well-being, vitality in work and free-time, general health, weight management, sports nutrition and disordered eating. My expertise and experience in these areas are very good – although I’ll learn as long as long as I work. There are several areas of nutrition where I’m not that good but I tend to avoid them. Eating is not all about physiology – it is even more about psychology. In 2005 I started a small brand by my approach to ”psychological” weight management: Rentoa painonhallintaa (Relaxed weight management). Combining the physiology and psychology of eating for best possible results is what I’m aiming for in the future too. Whether in clinic, product or company settings and whether in well-being or top sports.

All kinds of jobs. During the years I’ve been consulting several different kinds of wellbeing products/

programs on how to apply lifestyle – especially eating – counselling . Examples for these are consulting jobs

for 4Event, Aino Active, SanomaMagazines and Kunnossa Kaiken Ikää. Also, Ive been consulting on how

to develop food menus and concepts for well-being and work efficiency. Examples of these are co-operation

with Radisson Blu’s Brain Food concept and Vanajanlinna Group’s Sportness concept. And MANY different

kinds of other things too 🙂 I’ll add when I remember them.

I’ve written 7 books on weight management and 1 book on sports nutrition – 4 of these on my own and rest as

co-authored. My blog Pöperöproffa is focused on eating, nutrition and weight management issues and was

on 2015 it was selected as the 5th best health blog in Finland.

Kotimaiset Kasvikset on antanut ravitsemustutkija Patrik Borgille Vuoden porkkana -tunnustuspalkinnon

kasvisten syönnin edistämisestä. Palkintoperusteiden mukaan Patrik Borg on UKK-instituutin tutkijana

ja luennoillaan sekä julkisessa esiintymisessään ja asiakastyössään korostanut kasvisten lisäämisen

merkitystä olipa sitten kyseessä terveyden ylläpitäminen, painonhallinta, liikunta tai syömishäiriöt.

Ravitsemusvaikuttajana hän on noussut esiin raikkaalla ja rennolla otteellaan. – Kasvisten riittävä

määrällinen, vähintään puolen kilon päivittäinen tavoite saavutetaan helpoiten, kun syödään ateriarytmin

mukaisesti kaksi kunnon ateriaa päivässä. Pääaterioiden yhteyteen nimittäin on kaikkein kätevintä sisällyttää

kasviksia monessa maittavassa muodossa. Näin kasviksia syö mielellään toistuvasti ja päivittäin, Patrik
